She made sure the kids were well taken care of while I worked, she texted me updates and videos about them and their activities all throughout the day so that gave me comfort and peace. Thank you so much Brenda for taking care of my kids ❤️

My boys have been going to Brenda’s for 2 years now and they love it. On the weekends they wake up and ask if they get to go to Brenda’s that day. She’s amazing with my boys and they love being there. I love the peace of mind knowing my boys are in a safe and nurturing environment.

How It Began

Raising my four kids has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.  Seeing them grow and succeed always brings me joy.

One of the scariest moments was when I almost lost my son due to an unqualified babysitter.  I found him unconscious and her around the corner with her boyfriend.

I knew I had to start an affordable daycare to keep all kids safe.

FAQs

Do you accept state assistance and employment credits?

Common Options Include:

  • Utah Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP): Provides financial assistance to eligible low-income families to help cover childcare costs.
  • Workforce Services Subsidy: If you’re employed or in training, you may qualify for daycare assistance through the Department of Workforce Services (DWS).
  • Employer Assistance: Some employers offer child care subsidies or flexible spending accounts that can help with daycare expenses.
  • Tax Credits: You may qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit when filing your federal tax return.

How much financial assistance can I receive for daycare?

The amount of daycare assistance you receive will depend on:

  • Your income: Families with lower income will receive a higher subsidy.
  • # of children needing care: More children typically means more assistance.
  • Utah’s percentage of the daycare cost covered

Can I use daycare assistance if I work from home?

Yes, you may qualify for daycare assistance even if you work from home, as long as you meet the other program requirements, such as income guidelines and having a child under the age of 13.

Can I get help paying for daycare for more than one child?

Yes, discounts may be possible depending on availability.

Can I get daycare assistance if I’m only part-time employed?

Yes, you can qualify for daycare assistance even if you work part-time, as long as you meet the income and other eligibility requirements.

In Utah, there are several options to help with daycare costs:

  • Utah Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP): This program provides financial assistance to eligible low-income families to help cover childcare costs.

How do I qualify for the Utah Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)?

Eligibility for the CCAP depends on factors like:

  • Income: Families must meet specific income guidelines. Your total household income, including wages and any other financial support, will be considered.
  • Work or School Status: You need to be employed or enrolled in an educational program or job training.
  • Residency: You must be a resident of Utah.
  • Child’s Age: The program typically assists with children under the age of 13, although exceptions may apply for children with disabilities.

You can apply online through the Utah Department of Workforce Services website.

How do I apply for daycare assistance in Utah?

  • Online: The easiest way to apply is through the Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) website. You’ll need to create an account and submit an application for assistance.
  • In Person: You can also visit your local DWS office to apply in person or get help with the application process.

Documents Needed: Be prepared to provide documents such as proof of income, employment or school enrollment, and your child’s birth certificate.

How long does it take to process my application for daycare assistance?

Processing times can vary. Generally, it takes about 30 days to process your application, but it could be longer depending on the volume of applications or if additional documentation is needed.

If you don’t qualify for the CCAP, there are still other options:

  • Sliding Fee Scale: To help with hard times, we may offer additional discounts based on your income.
  • Tax Credits:  Check if you can claim the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit on your federal tax return.
  • Employer Benefits: Check if your employer offers child care assistance or flexible spending accounts.
  • Local Charities and Grants: Some non-profits in Utah offer childcare assistance, especially for single parents or those facing financial hardship.
